Frequently Asked Questions

How many seats are available for Photography Workshops?

We limit our Photography sessions to 12 people to make it a hands on experience.

I'm not a Commercial Photographer, is this workshop still for me?

Of course! We've taught all levels of photography, but our RV+ workshops are geared towards photographers who are familiar with their cameras and looking to learn more about lighting techniques, the photography industry, and furthering their photographic journey. If you have any concerns, feel free to call me personally - 832.330.6939

What is included?

Your workshop registration includes your breakfast, lunch, snacks, and drinks for the duration of the workshop.

What is NOT included?

Travel, Airfare, Lodging, Transportation, and Dinners are not included unless explicitly listed otherwise. With that said, we are more than happy to help arrange roommates by putting you in touch with other participants and help with travel to and from the studio.

What if I'm coming from out of town?

We are extremely willing to help you with booking airfare, lodging, and transportation arrangements, as well as help you find other participants who might be looking for the same thing. George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is the closest commercial airport, and Houston Hobby comes in on the South side of town.

What is this closest hotel to the studio?

There is a great Holiday Inn Express that is about a 6 minute drive from the studio.

What do I need to bring?

Items to bring along in order to get the most out of your experience: a laptop or notebook to work ideas with us, your camera and your favorite lens(es), memory cards, any branding materials you want critiqued, a sweater or jacket because I am a big fan of A/C and the studio can get cold at times, your portfolio if you would like to have us look throught it and help workshop your book, a kick-ass attitude, and an open mind.

What to wear?

I tend to live in Lululemon so feel free to bring comfortable clothes. We keep things pretty casual around here. We will be offering some yoga in the mornings so feel free to bring workout clothes with you. Tennis shoes are a bonus as well because we're going to be shooting some atheles, and being able to move easily is a major plus!

When do we start and end each day?

We start the workshop at 8:30am each day, but we have an optional sunrise yoga session starting at 7:30 at the studio that we would love for you to join us in! There is a ton of content we're trying to cover each day so the end time is pretty flexible, but we expect to be finished each day by 5-5:30pm.

Can I use the images from the photoshoots in my portfolio?

Of course!

What is your refund policy?

All seats and all payments made are non-refundable. You are welcome to sell your seat to someone else if you wish, but please contact us by email and let us know that your seat at the workshop will be used by a different person.

Do you cover your retouching in regular workshops?

We will be going over some basic retouching, but there is so much material we didn't feel like we could get to it in just one day. Retouching could be a full day workshop on its own, but I have been toying with the idea of providing a workshop specifically on the tasks of the Digital Darkroom.

When should I arrive?

We will be hosting a Studio Social the night before Day 1 of the workshops starting at 6pm. This is the perfect time to get to know us, get situated at the studio, and get to know your fellow workshop attendees so we can kick things off right in the morning! Attendees from either day of the workshops are more than welcome to attend for networking and getting to know the people you'll be hanging out with in the days to come.
